Arsene Wenger is not the only person associated with Arsenal that has ghosts coming from this competition. Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have major ghosts from the Champion’s League. They are not alone either. Arsenal as a team are swarmed with specters of past competitions.

No matter the opponent, Arsenal have to put those demons behind them. They have to shake the mantra that this competition is too big for them. But that all starts with the individual. Mikel Arteta cannot overcome Santi Cazorla’s demons for him. Nor can Alexis overcome Wenger’s demons for him. Sure they can help each other but in the end, each player has to achieve his own victory.

Arsenal do not have a rich history in the Champion’s League. They may qualify all the time but rarely do they make a big splash. Time to do so.
