Arsenal Predicted Starting XI To Face Tottenham Hotspur
By Josh Sippie
Mathieu Debuchy and Kieran Gibbs
Secondary competitions means secondary squads. Lucky for Arsenal, if there is one position that, even at the secondary level, is not too much of a step back, it is at full back. Arsenal have depth at full back. Kieran Gibbs has much higher potential but much lower consistency. Still though, it is not a downgrade from Nacho Monreal.

Mathieu Debuchy, meanwhile, is a stoic defender. He is just older and slower than Hector Bellerin. Otherwise he would be starting. Plus, he wants to fight for the starting role so each start has to be treated like an audition.
Gibbs needs to prove something. He was ticketed to be Arsenal’s left back of the future but he squandered his chances. Injuries have also played their part. He is going to be given chances to retake his role. It is up to him to take it.
