Arsenal Predicted Starting XI To Face Tottenham Hotspur

Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker
With Gabriel suspended, that leaves us very limited in choice. I truly hope that Arsene Wenger does not try to start Mertesacker with Calum Chambers. That has disaster written all over it.

Gabriel was a hero despite the red card. He should have held his temper, sure, but everyone and their sister has acknowledged that he was mostly innocent and that Diego Costa should have been sent packing, if anyone. Regardless, we must do without.
Per Mertesacker still is not match fit, so you have to wonder what he will be able to do come Wednesday. That virus must have been debilitating.
Laurent Koscielny is always a safe bet. Injuries are a concern but if it’s between him and starting Chambers and Mertesacker, we have to err on the side of risking injury. The Football League Cup may not mean that much but it is another competition to let Arsenal’s rotation squad stretch their legs.
