What is The Verdict on Daniele Rugani Arsenal Rumors?
Juventus center back Daniele Rugani has been linked with a move to Arsenal, according to Calciomercato. Following Arsenal’s second loss on the bounce to Chelsea, questions have been asked as to whether or not the three center backs Arsenal have in their ranks are good enough to maintain top-three status.

The Italian spent a year on loan with Empoli, and played every minute for them in the Serie A. Empoli finished 16th and conceded 52 goals, but Rugani was a bright spot in their defense, averaging a 6.98 match rating on WhoScored.com.
Though he is a young player, he is brilliant at reading the game and does not make over-aggressive moves like Gabriel Paulista. In 38 games, Rugani did not pick up a single yellow card for Empoli, which is an outstanding statistic for a player of 20. That ability to defend without being booked is important in a center back and should be coveted among young players.
Something to be kept in mind is that Rugani only made 1.3 tackles per game over the course of 2014. That is a total of 50 successful tackles out of 59 attempted. That is not very many for what one could argue is the main position where tackles are getting made.
The success rate is impressive, though it remains to be seen what he can do against quick forwards that know how to dribble. Serie A has a different pace than the Premier League, and a midfielder like Philippe Countinho could capitalize on Rugani’s inexperience and run rings around him.
The fact is that the Italian is still young, and that tackle statistic can improve massively with time. 6.9 clearances per match speaks for itself. A lack of discipline issues and the ability to clear the ball successfully demonstrates that he is composed in defense.
No starts for Juventus thus far suggests Rugani might be the fourth choice center back in Turin this season. He may get a look during cup fixtures but chances are that barring injury to an important player he will be on the bench. This could make his price tag considerably lower than somebody who is playing regular minutes for their side as a 20 year old, like Alessio Romagnoli.

Rugani is an important target for Arsenal – no question about it. A January addition at center back could seriously aid them by the looks of it, and Rugani does not have a massive amount of hype surrounding him just yet. Sounds just like Arsenal.
Price Tag? £5-10 Million – Subject to Change
There is that small chance that Giorgio Chiellini could get a serious injury, meaning first team places in central defense could be up for grabs. Rugani is good enough to contend with his Juventus teammates, so do not be surprised if interest in the 20-year-old picks up before the winter transfer window.
That is unlikely, however, so his price tag’s ceiling will likely be around £10 million. Daniele Rugani is a must buy. Simple as that.
