Arsenal’s Predicted Starting XI To Face Leicester City
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal played out an absolute cracker against Tottenham in the League Cup, taking it 2-1. 2 goals from one of the most unlikely sources, Mathieu Flamini, was enough to see the Gunners through. All that in spite of a Calum Chambers’ own goal. The Gunners grabbed momentum. There is no understating that. But the momentum kings are up next.

Next up, Arsenal return to the Premier League to face Leicester City. The Foxes are quickly becoming the underdog success story of the year. The year is young, however.
They have scored 13 goals. That is tied for most in the league with West Ham. Their offense is a counter attacking machine. Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Nathan Dyer lead the charge. Their speed is sufficient enough to trouble most legitimate defenses. Arsenal’s defenders will have their hands full. That much is certain.
Leicester have also surrendered 9 goals. That is the most of anyone in the top half of the table. Their center backs provide a hulking presence but they cannot contend with opposing speed.

All things considered, this is a powerful Leicester City team that is riding a huge momentum wave. Arsenal may have nabbed a bit of momentum in the League Cup but they still have a ton of work to do to stifle this high-flying Fox attack. However, as we at Pain in the Arsenal have covered, Theo Walcott may be enough to bust open their defense.
There should not be too many surprises in the starting XI. Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky are all still out with Francis Coquelin still a major question mark. Arsenal need Le Coq to stifle this Leicester midfield, so hopefully that gets sorted out.
With the injuries in mind, lets figure out who will be starting for Arsenal.
