Consider Arsenal’s offense like a sleeping dragon. Leicester City was kind enough to take a pointy stick and poke that sleeping dragon. Naturally, since pointy sticks are unpleasant, the dragon woke up and Arsenal’s attack looked unstoppable against the Foxes. Walcott, Alexis and Giroud put in all the goals with Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil creating the gross majority of the chances.

Now, the trick is keeping our often narcoleptic dragon awake. That is no easy feat. Not every team brings a pointy stick to the game. It will be up to Arsene Wenger to keep this attack clicking.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

There will be another midweek shuffle that sees Arsenal pitted against the Greek champions, Olympiakos. Arsenal historically have problems with the Greek side, although most of that trouble comes in the land of the Olympians.

The big question facing this game is a simple question. What do we do? We sent out a rather pathetic bunch against Dinamo Zagreb. That bunch managed to push past Tottenham in the League Cup but is it really wise to risk dropping more points in the Champions League when we already dropped three?

Starting in goal, there are immediate questions. Arsenal need their A-team but that team is tired from the weekend. Two days of rest is no sort of lay off to rejuvenate. Not even Alexis will be fully refreshed. Although he will tell you he is.

Not only that, but Francis Coquelin and now apparently Mathieu Flamini are injured. That means that Mikel Arteta is literally our only defensive midfielder. He’s not even a defensive midfielder.

With the enigmatic mind of Arsene Wenger considered, lets delve into the potential starting XI that Arsenal will use to face off against the Greeks.
