Karim Benzema, Real Madrid Spat Giving Arsenal Unnecessary Excitement

Leave it to a few lukewarm words to kick up an entire cloud of transfer rumors that had seemingly been put to rest. Like the zombie apocalypse, now we have an outbreak on our hands. This painful world has not permitted Karim Benzema to join Arsenal. He has referred to the rumor mongers as clowns and called the Sanitago Bernabeu his home.

But since that time, Karim Benzema has had a bit of a falling out with manager Rafa Benitez. The new Los Blancos manager had already seemingly put Karim Benzema behind the eight ball by putting Cristiano Ronaldo in the striker spot ahead of the Frenchman, but even that has now proven farcical as Benzema has made all of his appearances at striker.
However, despite all of that, Benitez has done his best to irritate the star forward by continuously pulling him from games before the full 90 has run its course.
Karim Benzema has only completed 2 matches so far this year. If you were to ask the Frenchman if it bothered him, he would say “it is true.”
When Karim Benzema is bothered, the media comes out of transfer speculation hibernation to do their best to convince the transfer-maligned Arsenal faithful out there that there is hope. After all, the problems between Edinson Cavani and PSG clearly proved to be the undoing of their relationship and the start of what brought the Uruguayan to Arsenal.
Oh wait.
Granted, moves start somewhere. If there is any bit of hope to pull from this, let it be hope that stems from the fact that Karim Benzema does have the capability to get frustrated at Real Madrid. Los Blancos are not perfect.

It has been well-established that Karim Benzema would fit in at Arsenal like a Cheerio in a bowl of other Cheerios. He plays the beautiful link-up play that Arsenal exemplify in the attack and the thought of Benzema combining with Mesut Ozil and Alexis is enough to make manly men weep. But after a transfer window that had Karim Benzema all but in the fitting room trying on his new Emirates kit, the realization has set in. Arsene Wenger will not pay Karim Benzema’s price.
It is a bit of a tough concept to swallow. If Karim Benzema is available, you pay for him. No matter the price. But the established truth is that the Frenchman is not available. And not to be a Debbie Downer, but no small spat with Benitez is going to make him phone Arsene Wenger and ask for a new home. That is not how the real world works.
