Our maligned Polish goal keeper took his talents to Roma after Arsenal acquired Petr Cech but his future still lies at Arsenal. This is good news considering how well Szczesny did in his first match with his new club.

Szczesny made an excellent double save (see it here) and saw Roma through to a 1-1 draw with Verona.

Unfortunately for Szczesny, a hand injury proved to be too much in the 50th minute of Roma’s Champions League Game against Barcelona after a clash with the human vampire (Luis Suarez) on September 16th 2015. It was confirmed the following day that he would be out for 6 weeks after the dislocation of the ring finger on his left hand.

Szczesny recovered from his hand injury in time to face Palermo on Sunday. The goalkeeper endured a bit of a shaky performance in net, after making two mistakes handling the ball. Despite that, Szczesny’s side recorded a 4-2 victory over Palermo. Szczesny faced 14 shots on the night and recorded a 60% pass accuracy.

Next Up: Empoli
