Arsenal vs Everton: 3 Things to Watch For

Date: Oct 24

Venue: Emirates Stadium

In going with all the crazy Star Wars things going on around the internet, this game can only be described as A TRAP! Yes Arsenal beat Bayern mid week, and yes Arsenal has been crazy hot lately.

However, Arsenal are up against a more than capable opponent and they must play this game carefully. Everton play a physical style of soccer and that has never been a type of opponent Arsenal fancy going up against. Furthermore, Everton lost to Untied last week and they may start the game trying to prove something.

Again, all that and more suggests that this game is a trap!

Prediction: Arsenal 1-1 Everton

1) Ramsey out, but Chamberlain in

Ramsey is injured! But that isn’t anything surprising or new.

However, his replacement is more than capable of stepping in. If anything, his replacement might be able to make the right wing spot his for the rest of the season. Maybe I’m just biased but my love for Chamberlain’s game is backed by his enormous potential. Speed on the wing, coupled with the strength and skill to play in the middle means Chamberlain will become another weapon Ozil enjoys playing along side. As per Squawka.com, Chamberlain has only got 29% of his shots on target, but with more minutes and opportunities created by Ozil and Sanchez, look for that number to rise dramatically. However, other than that, Chamberlain matches Ramsey on almost all other statistics.

Wenger always says Chamberlain is still young and lacks experience. But more so in soccer than any other sport, it is true when people say age is only a number. Chamberlain has the skill set required to succeed in the Premier League no matter what his age and experience level.

2) Cech shows us how it’s done

Arsenal did not play that impressive of a match against Bayern. If anything, the quality that came out of the front was quite poor. However, there is no doubt the game mid-week was more so about the two keepers on the pitch rather than the other 20 players.

Neuer showed us all why he is the best keeper in the world, but Cech reminded us why he was an icon for so long. Cech’s ability to save shots that seemed destined to go in is why Arsenal fans are excited for this weekend’s match rather than weeping.

Expect Arsenal to come under some heavy pressure by the Everton offense only to see Cech rise to the occasion once more and keep most but not all shots out of Arsenal’s goal.

3) Sanchez isn’t superman

Sanchez isn’t superman but man is he close.

As per Squawka.com, Sanchez has hit 88% of his shots on target in the past three games, created nine chances in those three games and scored six goals. But two goals per game is not something we expect him to continue and his ridiculous form is not something we expect to last forever.

With all of that in mind, look for Sanchez to be Sanchez, yet don’t be shocked when you see a dip in form. Please note that a dip in form may mean Sanchez still continues to run around the whole pitch, ensuring that his heat graph around the pitch is completely red, and manage to score a goal.
