Knowing what we did, about it being a now or never moment, Joel Campbell stepped up and was Arsenal’s only strong outfield performer of the first half. His dribbling was sensational, his strength and pace was on display – it was just a fantastic display for the Costa Rican in his EPL Debut.
It may be a bit preemptive to say he is therefore quality enough to play with the big boys, but consider the context. We know that this is what Joel Campbell regularly plays like. We have seen it in Spain, Greece, and in the World Cup. The only question was if he could get it to translate to Arsenal success. Now we know he can.
Joel Campbell is going to build off of this performance. He is finally going to become a relevant player on this Arsenal squad and it is just going to add another dimension to the team’s already blossoming array of attacking players.
