Arsenal vs Tottenham: Bellerin, Koscielny And Full Injury Update
By Josh Sippie
Leave it to Arsenal to get struck with a major injury influx in the middle of some massive games. The trickling injuries started dripping in long ago, but thanks to a large portion of games all crammed together, none of which could be taken lightly, Arsenal now face up to 10 mean out of the North London Derby this weekend.
Most of the injuries are nothing new. Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Danny Welbeck. Those guys are still hurt. It’s the new injuries that will test the one area where we are supposed to have a lot of depth – defense.
Hector Bellerin picked up an injury somewhere before the Bayern Munich match and is a doubt to face Tottenham Hotspur. The mass of matches had to have a toll on tired muscles and a tireless work ethic. Arsenal will be missing their 20-year old manchild, but behind him, they have the French National Team’s starting right back. Not the worst situation to be in.

Mathieu Debuchy may have had a sub-par season up to this point but a little match time will have him back to his quality ways in no time. At least that’s the idea.
The next major injury update is to Laurent Koscielny. The Boss picked up a knock sometime before the Bayern Munich match as well and for continuities sake, let’s blame the workload. According to Arsene Wenger (via Arsenal.com), Koscielny has an 80% chance of playing and faces a test tomorrow. 80% is a solid, passing grade, but this is Arsenal and we have learned to expect the worst.
Mikel Arteta also faces a test tomorrow but it’s not like his continued absence is going to be detrimental to the team.
Tottenham are on a rampage lately in the Premier League and Arsenal are going to need all they can muster to stem the Hotspur tide. Luckily, it sounds like they may have Koscielny back.
