International break is being kind to Arsenal in that it comes at a point where the team desperately needed a break. Injuries were becoming frequent and even Santi Cazorla reached a point where he was “dizzy” and “could not move.” But along with the rest, international break will also see the return of Aaron Ramsey, Hector Bellerin and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to the Daily Mail.

This all sounds well and good for just about everyone. Except Joel Campbell.
Campbell had become the only right winger left on the squad since Ramsey and the Ox had been out. The young Costa Rican had his opportunity. In his EPL debut, Campbell scored his first ever goal in a match that he was brilliant in. He was one of the few Arsenal men not to look completely baffled by Swansea.
Against Bayern Munich and Tottenham, it was more of the same. While no more goals came, Campbell looked composed and collected on the ball. Coupling that with his outrageous work ethic is what Arsenal has been looking for all along. Luckily, they seem to have uncovered the real Joel Campbell.

But now, the problem is how saturated Arsenal’s right side will become. Aaron Ramsey will no doubt resume first-team duties, as well he should. The Welshman is a vital piece to this Arsenal squad and he has indeed been missed.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was ahead of Campbell in the pecking order too. The Ox was supposed to challenge Ramsey for the starting spot but he had been having a spot of trouble doing so.
With both Ramsey and the Ox due back, Campbell figures to be back to third on the totem pole. Not exactly a good place for someone who has made such a strong impression in the Premier League.
Campbell has acknowledged that he wants to fight for his place at Arsenal. He could conceivably shift to the left side, but even then, playing behind Alexis Sanchez is not so different from playing behind Ramsey and the Ox combined.
With the Capital One Cup over and the Champions League in major jeopardy, Campbell will have to wait for the FA Cup or force his way into the EPL squad.

Hopefully Arsene Wenger has seen enough to at least give Campbell a few substitute appearances in the EPL. Even that is questionable, though, as the Ox holds that role down.
Only time will tell.
