Ranking Arsenal’s Most Missed Injured Players
4. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
What happened this season to the Ox? In the summer he was pegged as the player poised to have a breakout season. It was all set up for him. He looked ready to grab that right winger position and make it his own. However it never clicked for the Ox this season. With players like Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez and Willian all upping their game it would be great to see the Ox keeping up with his peers.

There really is only one thing that is holding him back, and that’s his decision making. Against Everton the Ox was guilty of a mistake that led to the Toffees only goal. His decision to shoot at the edge of the 16-yard box rather than pass to an available teammate led to a perfect counterattack opportunity. Unfortunately for the Ox the only way to make better decisions is to spend more time on the pitch, which is something he wasn’t getting loads of even when he was healthy.
With the decent form of Joel Campbell and the looming recoveries of Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck, the Ox will be looking to make a statement as soon as he gets fit again. Let’s keep our fingers and toes crossed that this latest injury won’t hamper him for long. A healthy and effective Alex Oxlade Chamberlain isn’t just important for this season. He’s an important building block for the club’s future.
Next, we hit the other England man.
