3. Theo Walcott

Right when it seemed that Arsenal had figured out a way to balance their two strikers, Theo Walcott went down with an injury. Luckily it doesn’t seem that this injury will be too serious but with Arsenal you just never know. In Giroud and Walcott the Gunners had an amazing thunder and lightning combination which kept opponents constantly guessing.

Against teams that like to keep a high defensive line and go toe to toe  with Arsenal, Walcott’s pace was the perfect way to spread defensive and exploit pace. Case in point, the Gunners evisceration of Manchester United at the Emirates. Furthermore the pacey Englishman is the perfect weapon to soften up defenses before Giroud can come in to put them away. Against Bayern Munich, Theo wore down the Germans burly center backs before making way for his French teammate to break the deadlock.

Let’s be clear, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott are two very, very good strikers. However neither of them are what you would call great strikers. They aren’t in that Karim Benzema, Sergio Aguero, Robert Lewandowski class. Therefore finding the correct balance between the two will be crucial to Arsenal’s title aspirations. Two fresh strikers will be necessary to ensure that Arsenal never become one dimensional.

At number two, we hit the youngest guy on the list.
