Arsenal’s Top 10 Home Kits of All Time

2. 1967/68
Staying on topic with iconic concepts that make the Arsenal kit 100% Arsenal, the second most memorable kit introduced us to the most Arsenal thing that exists: the cannon.
A unique ‘mascot’ per say, the cannon originated from the crest of Woolwich, which featured three cannons pointed upwards. Throughout the years, the cannon developed slowly but surely until the 1967 season, when the cannon first featured on Arsenal’s home kit right on the left breast pocket, over the heart, where it belongs.
The cannon has since evolved into the crest we see today (as can be traced on Arsenal.com), but the overall cannon remains the same, and it always will. Arsenal finished 9th in the 1967/68 season, but the cannon’s significance far outweighs any sub-par finish.
