5. It’s not Arsenal-like
When is the last time Arsenal accepted the services of an aging striker to lead an attack that Arsene Wenger vouches for? Perhaps never? It is not a very Arsenal-like move to go grab a free transfer at a non-essential position. Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott both have pleased Arsene Wenger to no end.

For the most part, it is hard to argue against Olivier Giroud. He is a goal-scoring machine. He misses chances like everyone else. Also, just like nearly everyone else, he is lesser than Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but that is not what Arsene Wenger sees. Wenger sees a position that is amply manned and not in need of an upgrade.
Plus, Arsenal is not a team that plays to the superstar ego. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has one of those.
I will add a note of optimism here. Wenger spoke highly in favor of David Ospina and the job he did in goal before signing Petr Cech. That is where I draw one sliver of hope that there is a chance that Zlatan Ibrahimovic comes to Arsenal. But again, it is a sliver.
