5 Things We Learned From Arsenal Vs West Brom
By Josh Sippie
2. This could still be the same Arsenal
It’s been a long road to get Arsenal into a spot of contending. They are always hanging around the top before injuries swoop in and derail the club. This year, I for one, and I know I am not alone, was swept up with the idea that this was the year. That Arsenal could overcome those injuries and still contend.
I still believe that Arsenal can win the league. Every team goes through ruts. But injuries are still hampering this team and its progress. I get it, it’s impossible to be injury proof. But you have to put the team in the best possible situation to win. Rocking out with just one lone true defensive midfielder is no ‘best possible situation to win’.
Skill-wise, this is not the same Arsenal. It is much improved and constantly improving. But in terms of the situation of the team, it may very well still be the same squad. Incapable of overcoming injuries and soft at the core. That is a scary prospect to fathom going forward.
Finally, at number one, we get positive with the only good thing we learned from the match.
