Arsenal need to recover like nobody’s business. But with injuries always proving an issue, can they top Dinamo Zagreb? Here’s how they should line up.

I mentioned in my recap of the Arsenal-West Brom fiasco that I am incredibly terrified of having to see Arsenal come out a few days after a painful defeat and play again. With more injuries and less confidence, Arsenal is not going to look like the team that rallied to the top of the table.

But then again, doesn’t Arsenal always look their strongest with their backs against the wall? I have always said this. When they seem down, out, and unable to recover, they manage to scrape themselves off off the footballing world’s windshield and fly away looking brilliant. Until the next windshield.

Let’s hope that West Brom was that windshield. It could always get worse and I could be stating after the Zagreb match that ‘Arsenal always play at their best with their…’ and pointing to the match up against Norwich as the time they will bounce back. It’s a nasty cycle.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Regardless, Arsenal have to face Dinamo Zagreb. A team that may or may not have juiced their way past Arsenal in Croatia earlier in the year. Not only are they facing Zagreb, but they have a mass of disgusting injuries to contend with. Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may or may not be ready. Francis Coquelin certainly won’t be, and that is the most terrifying of them all.

Likewise, Theo Walcott will still not be available either.

It may be time that we see some youth players making starts. The problem with that scenario is that this is a must win. Arsenal are eliminated if they don’t win. So can a youth player or two be counted on? Who knows.

With all of this to contend with, we must now do our best with presenting a plausible, yet effective starting XI. Here we go.
