Arsenal squeezed out a massively disappointing 1-1 draw at Carrow Road against Norwich City. Here are five positives we can take away from the upset.

Arsenal’s poor run of Premier League form continued as the Gunners were unable to overcome the Canaries at Carrow Road. After netting the first goal via a beautiful assist from Alexis and an equally beautiful finish from Mesut Ozil in the 30th minute, Norwich came right back and netted in the 43rd minuted.

That would be it. A second half that was dominated by Arsenal proved fruitless. The Gunners pelted the Norwich defense but they were unable to push through. Frustrations compiled.

If you want to get technical, it was injuries that yet again did Arsenal in. Laurent Koscielny was subbed off in the 11th minute due to injury and it was his replacement, Gabriel Paulista, who was chiefly responsible for Norwich’s goal. Although it begs to be mentioned that he was superb aside from that little blip. More on that later.

Likewise, in the 60th minute, Alexis Sanchez’s tender hamstring struck. He was subbed off and the wing combo of Joel Campbell and Alex Olxade-Chamberlain were unable to pierce that Canary defense. It’s all speculation, but you have to imagine that Alexis Sanchez would have been more effective than the two. He had been very effective all day.

With new injuries comes new worries. With another missed opportunity to move up the table against a lesser opponent, doubts are creeping in. Is this is the exact same Arsenal as it has been for the past decade?

Staving off delving down that dark road, let’s start learning what we can from this Norwich draw. Here are all the positive takeaways.
