While 2014/15 is often seen as a down year, that is because he only spent half the year at central midfield, dealt with three hamstring injuries, and was then moved out wide. Yet he still amassed nine goals and seven assists.
Being returned to his favored central role means that he will be returned to Arsenal’s favored 2013/14 form. And that means that Arsenal will be blessed with an engine that can rev from box to box, contributing to all facets of the game. He also has a knack for heroics, as we witnessed against Hull City.
