Arsenal: 5 Things That Must Weigh On Arsene Wenger’s Mind
1. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
The Ox came into this year’s campaign as the golden Gunner. Many of his teammates had selected Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as the player who would have a breakout season. Unfortunately that has not come to fruition. In many ways the Ox has regressed in his development. He seems unsure of himself and rather unsettled on the pitch. With the host of injury problems at the club, one would assume that Oxlade- Chamberlain would be the player to really take advantage. Somehow he has managed to look miles off the pace.

That is very worrying if you are a Gooner and downright terrifying if you are Arsene Wenger. I don’t believe that Wenger truly trusts Joel Campbell. The Costa Rican is making great strides in the first team, but I still get the suspicion that the manager is just looking for a chance to pull him off the pitch.
The Ox embodies the future of the club. He needs to sort out his hindrances so that he can reach his full potential. If Arsenal are going to succeed in the next 4-5 years the Ox will be a huge part of that. His goal in the Community Shield has been Alex’s only bright spot in a season full of question marks and headaches.
