1. Thierry Henry
Thierry Henry is the greatest Gunner who ever lived. Therefore he kind of, sort of has to be the greatest signing ever made by Arsene Wenger. Bought from Monaco for £11 million in 1999, Henry reunited with Arsene Wenger, a reunion that would make history. Henry went on to score 226 goals in 369 appearances for the Gunners, leading the attack through their most successful period as a club.
As one of the greatest players to have ever lived, Wenger was a genius to bring him over from a Monaco side that did not know how to use him. Wenger gave Henry the room to turn into a legend.

When he finally left for Barcelona in 2007, the fee was around £17 million with added fees coming later. Again, not a bad profit.
Thierry Henry will forever be an icon associated with Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal. He, and Patrick Vieira, embody what Wenger has done. He was able to take seemingly no-name or obscure players from around the world, train them, and in a few years he would have a finely-tuned instrument capable of dismantling the opposition.
