4. Project Relegate Chelsea

I think it’s safe to say that with the demise of Jose Mourinho, Arsenal has a lot less invested in Chelsea. But need I remind us that Cesc Fabregas is still playing there and the man that is supposedly better than Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard, is also there. Oh, and that one Flintstones-looking forward that mauled Laurent Koscielny.

There is still plenty of reason to root against Chelsea and with a Saturday match up against Sunderland, still plenty of reason to hope for relegation.

Chelsea is just one measly point removed from the relegation zone. Sunderland sit three points behind Chelsea. There is a very distinct chance that if Chelsea lose to Sunderland, they will be in the relegation zone by the weekend’s end.

The first step is a loss. Sunderland is not a good team but they have downed both Stoke City and Crystal Palace this year. That is something. Chelsea, too, is a bad team. By that standard, this match has the capabilities of swinging either way. If Chelsea do pull off a glorious loss, all we need is Norwich to beat a toothless Manchester United and Swansea City to scrape at least a draw from West Ham. All things are possible when Chelsea’s at work.

Next up, the Spuds.
