Arsenal are all set to start a New Year the right way against a poor Newcastle side. Here are Pain in the Arsenal’s staff predictions.

Last year about this time, The Gunners were getting embarrassed by Southampton. Well, that embarrassment is already out of the way, so now we just have to worry about Newcastle. Sitting at the top of the table, these are points that Arsenal have to take. Here are the predictions from the staff of Pain in the Arsenal.

Brian: Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle

Thomas: Arsenal 2-0 Newcastle

Arsenal will beat Newcastle on Saturday 2-0. Walcott will regain form and the composure to put one past the Toon. Flamini and Ozil will control the midfield, and the German will link up with an on-rushing Ramsey throughout the whole game. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s defense will look solid in front of Petr Cech.

Andy: Arsenal 4-0 Newcastle

Let’s be honest. Newcastle are terrible and Arsenal are hoping to build on an impressive win over Bournemouth in the week after a horrific four goal loss to Southampton. Arsenal will win this game. The question is, how many will they win by.

At home, Arsenal have played well recently, with Giroud and Ozil linking up more and more. There are goals in this side. I am predicting a dominant performance from the Gunners with Giroud getting back to scoring ways.

Josh: Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle

The Gunners finally got a chance to rest some of their starters against Bournemouth and those that were not rested still got a near full week’s rest. Monreal, Koscielny, Campbell and Flamini will all be back and they should be as close as possible to a full tank of gas.

Olivier Giroud is going to need a rebound and he has a fantastic track record against Newcastle. It fits together so nicely. Giroud will get a goal. Aaron Ramsey will get another and Ozil will continue his fine form with an assist and a goal of his own.

Nasra: Arsenal 2-0 Newcastle

Going into Saturday’s game against Newcastle, Arsenal are right where they should be – at the top of the Premier League. The fact that they capitalized on Leicester dropping points means that the title is now theirs to lose. I expect Arsenal to keep their slim lead over Leicester by taking all three points against Newcastle, although it won’t be easy as Newcastle will be doing all they can to get themselves out of the relegation zone. Expect to see a couple goals from an in-form Olivier Giroud in this game.
