3. Jese

Being linked to Real Madrid wantaways always gives me hope. Call it the Mesut Ozil effect. It makes sense for more than just that though. Real Madrid is always going to be overflowing with talent. Even when they are overflowing, they may sign more talent still, as they have done recently with James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos.

Having that blockade of elite talent in the starting eleven prevents guys like Jese from ever making it as more than an injury fill-in. The Spaniard has made just four starts and three substitute appearances all year. That can be enough to make a guy wonder why he’s staying where he is. Sometimes the allure of stardom at the Bernabeu is not enough to overcome the want for consistent playtime.

Jese has two goals and an assist in just over 300 minutes of play time (via WhoScored.com). At 22 years of age, he is desperate for more time that Real Madrid will never be able to afford him with the BBC combination hearty and healthy as always.

As such, a potential move to Arsenal makes sense. For just £21.1 million, Arsenal could secure another versatile attacking threat that can play anywhere ahead of the back four. He has proven that he can exist in the ranks of Real Madrid. All he needs is some room to stretch his legs. The Metro is pointing to Arsenal as that room.

In Jese, Arsenal would be getting a proven, quality, young and versatile attacker that can bolster their fluctuating front line. With Alexis Sanchez down with injury, Arsenal has been reminded that behind him, they have the recent upstart Joel Campbell and the ever-inconsistent, ever-injured Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Could not hurt to add a little help.

With just two to go, we get to the last holding midfielder on the list at number two.
