9. Granit Xhaka

Borussia Monchengladbach have quite the talent in young Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka. He has a knack of being incredibly aggressive, almost to a fault. He is an enforcer that appears handmade for a physical Premier League. The rumors first emerged when Liverpool were seeking his services via a £19.6 million bid. Now, Arsenal want in as well.

That is all well, good and reasonable, except for the fact that the Bundesliga man has pledged his loyalty to the Bundesliga. “I am under contract until 2019 here and I am really enjoying life at the club”, he said via Sky Sports Germany.

Granted, that is the exact same stuff that Mesut Ozil said before making the jump. Still, Xhaka is the captain of the rising Bundesliga side and it will take a lot to coax him away. After all, the Premier League is not as superior as it used to be.

Still, Xhaka and Krychowiak should be highlighting Arsenal’s list. Xhaka has been used more in a box-to-box role but his intensity and physicality would easily translate to a defensive role.

Next up, our first attacking midfielder steps up at number eight.
