Arsenal vs Liverpool Full Match Highlights And Videos

Arsenal and Liverpool squared off in what was a very open, very sloppy affair on both sides of the ball. In the end, it ended level as Arsenal could not finish off the match.

Arsenal entered Anfield with a sizable task, but one that they were amply equipped to overcome. Despite the slop and the rain and the snow and the result, this turned out to be a rather exciting game.

• 4′ – Milner sends in the first attacking pass of the day but it is claimed by Petr Cech.
• 5′ – All slop from Arsenal so far. Giveaways galore.

• 25′ – GOAL. Corner is zapped into the box and Giroud somehow sends it into the net with a magnificently deft touch. 2-2.
• 27′ – Beautiful pass from Campbell is sent into Walcott, who sends it in the box and finds Giroud. The Frenchman clears it off the line rather than scoring. Interesting tactics.
• 29′ – Campbell takes a dink of a shot that gets deflected into Mignolet’s arms.
• 33′ – Sloppy play from Liverpool finds Campbell, whose shot is deflected for a corner.
• 37′ – Moreno sends a vicious ball into the box but no one is there to latch onto it.
• 38′ – Moreno sends in another cross but Cech claims it.
• 41′ – Firmino nearly picks Lallalana out but Cech outsmarts them
• 45’+1′ – Can tries to mimic Firmino’s curler but it was nowhere near threatening.
• 45’+2′ – Firmino almost has another but he sends it high, clipping the top of the bar.

HALF TIME. Arsenal and Liverpool come in level, 2-2. It has been wide open and it has been hectic.

• 46′ – Lallalana has an open shot from a wide angle but he fires high.
• 51′ – Walcott finally puts together a constructive run but his shot dribbles wide.
• 55′ – GOAL. What a fantastic goal from Giroud. Sperb. Gets the ball from Campbell with his back to goal and turns and whips it in. 3-2.
• 60′ – Ball bounces around in the Arsenal box but Ibe’s final shot is deflected for a clearance.
• 64′ – Liverpool trying so hard, but perhaps they are trying too hard.
• 65′ – Henderson tries to fire a shot on goal but it was slicing wide all the time.
• 68′ – Firmino latches onto a header but it goes over for a corner.
• 68′ – Moreno’s shot takes a deflection that, from the wrong angle, will make your heart stop. But it was wide.
• 71′ – Arsenal need to mount a counter attack or something. They cannot absorb this Liverpool pressure forever.
• 72′ – Ball sent dangerously into the box but Mertesacker nervously clears over his own net.
• 73′- Benteke tries to send a ball in but Cech claims it. Arsenal must change something. They have to hold onto the ball and they can’t.
• 75′ – Campbell and Walcott come off for Arsenal. About time for Walcott, shame for Campbell.
• 76′ – Lallalana has his shot deflected by Mertesacker.
• 78′ – Koscielny sends the ball away after it sat tantalizingly right in front of Cech.
• 79′ – The Ox’s first involvement is to grossly hang onto the ball when he should have passed it.
• 85′ – I’m almost too nervous to type. Here comes another corner for Liverpool. Luckily, it goes clear through out of play.

This game began sloppy as can be from Arsenal’s standpoint. They were giving the ball away like it was going out of style. This is what happens when you do that:

However, seemingly out of nowhere, Arsenal answered back on a stealthy goal from Ramsey. Observe:

The game continued to be a wide open affair with plenty of attempts in on goal. Firmino decided to one up his first goal with this beauty to put Liverpool back up into the lead:

The half was played out with the same intensity but no more goals would come. Although each team had at least another three to four golden chances.

The second half got started the same way. Very open match that led to plenty of chances on goal. The best chance came when Arsenal took the lead via Olivier Giroud’s brilliance. Have a look:

Superb. So many nervy moments could follow but Arsenal held on for dear life as Liverpool threw everything they could at a suddenly stout Arsenal defense.
