Arsenal Target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Fed Up With Transfer Rumors
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal transfer target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has finally said enough is enough. His frustration is growing with the transfer talk.
It makes sense that the average onlooker would be tired of transfer rumors. In what parallel universe would Arsenal sign Karim Benzema, Edinson Cavani, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Robert Lewandowski? Not even in a galaxy far, far away.

Apparently the bewilderment that can sometimes come from seeing so many silly rumors is not only felt by fans and spectators.
Top Arsenal target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has heard one rumor too many. After telling the media that he would not be moving to Arsenal, the Gabonese hot shot felt inclined to put the rumors further to rest. Although it probably won’t work.

“I still want to achieve lots with Dortmund. I am here and nowhere else – not at Arsenal, not at Barcelona, not on the moon – you can see that,” he said via BBC Sport.
That is the polite way of saying “shut up.” The plausibility of this transfer has always been hugely doubtful, especially considering that Aubameyang took the time to say no twice, with increased frustration.
For those of you that are holding onto a glimmer of hope and going with the “Ozil said it wouldn’t happen, look where he ended up” approach, let’s look at the concrete evidence.
If you buy into reports, Aubameyang was said to be worth £60m. Arsenal was, according to reports, only willing to stump up £42m. That is a big gulf in numbers. Negotiations seem unlikely. And that is if the reports are even believable. Most likely, the reports were hearsay and Arsenal never even tabled a serious offer. They may have tested the waters, but nothing more.
After all, what business would Wenger have dropping that big of a sum on a striker when he signed Danny Welbeck to fill the role. When Welbeck got hurt, he gave it to Walcott. Giroud is always going to be a favorite of Wenger. He has not seen a need to replace him and quite rightly so. Giroud embodies the way Arsenal play at their best. That is, when Giroud is at his best, but that is a subject for another article.

Also consider where Borussia Dortmund is right now. Second in the Bundesliga, not far behind Bayern Munich and having scored more goals than Munich. Thanks to who? Aubameyang. After a disaster of a season last campaign, Dortmund lost no key players. They retained everyone, displaying a fantastic amount of gumption and loyalty. Now that they have returned to where they belong, no one is going to be leaving. Least of all the guy leading the charge to the top.
Aubameyang is happy at Dortmund, and why shouldn’t he be? He is the front man on one of the best squads in the world. He has a splendid set-up at Dortmund. It is very similar to what we see at Arsenal. These players play for more than just personal glory, they play for each other. Aubameyang is a part of that and as he said himself, he has much more to accomplish at Dortmund.

It was a nice thought for about two days, but it is time that we follow Aubameyang’s example and forget this rumor ever existed.
