With a lineup that raised numerous questions, Arsenal was unable to mount anything against Stoke City. Here are the player ratings.

With £78m out of the game due to injuries in Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, Wenger had to get creative. It didn’t work. Arsenal’s injuries are finally starting to take their toll as they were unable to overcome Stoke City at the Britannia yet again. There were so many recurring themes in this match, which we will get to in the player ratings to follow.

8.4. MAN OF THE MATCH. Saving points for Arsenal yet again. With his defense crumbling around him, Cech was superb. He made a miraculous double save to preserve a 0-0 draw. Hard to imagine where Arsenal would be without him.. GK. Arsenal FC. PETR CECH

Arsenal FC. HECTOR BELLERIN. 7.6. Bellerin is back in form, and that is a good thing. He was excellent going forward as always. It is so nice to have this extra winger presence from a fullback, especially when the offense looks flat and uninspired like today.. RB

How many times is he going to get run out there before Wenger starts asking questions? Per was not good. He was shaky in defense all day. With his center back partner also looking shaky, that lead to a lot of awkward situations for Petr Cech.. CB. Arsenal FC. PER MERTESACKER. 6.5

6.8. Better than Per today but that is not saying much. He is starting to develop the nasty habit of giving the ball away all too often. As a center back, that isn’t exactly a good thing. It may be the spirit of the Arsenal team, but that doesn’t mean he has to conform.. CB. Arsenal FC. LAURENT KOSCIELNY

7.8. Another solid outing for the Spaniard. Had to cover for his two center back team mates far too often. At least he can be relied upon in every facet of the game.. LB. Arsenal FC. NACHO MONREAL

6.9. While Flamini is normally quietly effective, today he was quietly ineffective. Was not the worst performer on the pitch, but fell into the trend of giving the ball away. Leave it to a thuggish Stoke to expose our undersized midfield core.. MID. Arsenal FC. MATHIEU FLAMINI

7.6. A fairly consistent performance for Ramsey. His clearance off the line saved the game late and for that he deserves massive credit. Showed great dribbling skills and despite the growing fad at Arsenal, did not give the ball away. At least not nearly as much as his fleety English team mates.. MID. Arsenal FC. AARON RAMSEY

Arsenal FC. THEO WALCOTT. 5.9. Another 70 minutes of giving the ball away wholesale. His effectiveness is dropping by the minute. Numerous times an attacking move was cut short because Walcott drilled himself into a hole and saw no way out. He then goes to ground and the attack goes the other way. If this is the best Wenger can conjure up, Arsenal need to seriously consider their options for the future. . MID

6.0. Walcott’s protege. Giving the guy who gives the ball away a more centralized, intricate role on the team is rarely a good idea. The fact that he had to cover for an injured Mesut Ozil may have stacked the chips against him, but it was more of the same. Giveaways galore. Could have perhaps had a goal though, had it not taken a rather unfortunate deflection. Still, almost having a goal does not qualify you for a higher rating.. MID. Arsenal FC. ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN

7.2. Did he give the ball away? Yes. Did he get caught in possession? Yes. But unlike Walcott and the Ox, Campbell actually attempts to make up for it. Was a major cog on a lot of Arsenal’s attacks and his defensive qualities continue to impress. The only mildly effective winger on the day.. MID. Arsenal FC. JOEL CAMPBELL

OLIVIER GIROUD. 7.1. Had the best chance for Arsenal on the day but Jack Butland made an amazing save to stop his header. Other than that, it is pretty clear that this offense was not going to provide any sort of service. Without Ozil out there, the chances were lacking and with how often the wide men gave the ball up going forward, it is no surprise that Giroud was unable to mount any sort of attack.. ST. Arsenal FC

7.2. Thankfully came on for Walcott in the 71′. For a 19 year old, he commands the ball better than Walcott and the Ox combined. Was unable to get into any sort of attacks, but that was the way Arsenal had been all day. Again, at least he did not give the ball up. That is what makes his score so high for doing so little.. LB. Arsenal FC. ALEX IWOBI

7.0. Came on in the 90′, a long overdue sub for the Ox. Didn’t have time to do much... RB. Arsenal FC. CALUM CHAMBERS
