Arsenal: Ainsley Maitland-Niles Ignites Wondergoal Competition
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal have now had two prospects score beautiful goals in the past week and a little competition is brewing. Who is next to net a wondergoal?
They say every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Well, if football is physics, then Ainsley Maitland-Niles has demonstrated this by netting a splendid curler just days after Reine-Adelaide grabbed headlines in the Twittersphere for his own magnificent goal.

And so, the question is begging to be asked. Which goal was better?
Both just 18 years of age, Arsenal clearly has a ton to look forward to. If everything goes correctly, these two will be team mates at the Emirates in just a few more years.
Reine-Adelaide is primed to be a creative midfield genius of the same ilk as Mesut Ozil. While that sets the bar pretty high, all initial returns from Reine-Adelaide are incredibly impressive. Wenger even said of the youth star that he simply does not play like his age. He has so much more composure on and off the ball.

No matter where he is on the pitch, Reine-Adelaide is calm. That is a very unique trait for someone so young and it is something we can see mimicked in Mesut Ozil.
Maitland-Niles is a winger, which, given Arsenal’s current enigmatic state out wide, could be a welcome bit of consistency when he finally makes it to the first team. Now on loan at Ipswich Town, Maitland-Niles has netted two goals and added an assist en route to becoming a favorite at Portman Road. He is one of the few Arsenal loanees that has been holding down a regular starting role at his loan club and all parties are reaping the benefits.
Aside from his offensive contributions, the English winger is also showing strong defensive capabilities, as he is averaging 1.7 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per appearance. Arsene Wenger will be tickled pink to see that.

We look forward to the future contributions of these two and hope to see these wondergoals translate at the Emirates in the years to come.
