Arsenal may or may not need more striking options, but in just a few years they definitely will. Enter Arkadiusz Milik, the solution to everything.

It’s not a name that you’d forget. Although commonly known as Arek Milik, there is no mistaking that for some odd reason, Arsenal have been strangely lacking in the link department to this young Polish solution. Milik is currently serving his first year as a full-time Ajax striker after spending last year at the club on loan.

Just 21 years of age, Milik has found considerable success and given his nationality, is being referred to as the next Robert Lewandowski. Normally, ‘the next’ anything rumors are easily dismissable but Milik is making a strong case for himself. He is averaging .67 goals per 90 across his past two years at Ajax and he is creating 1.30 chances as well.

The club statistics back him up, but for those saying that it is only the Eredivisi need only look at his international numbers. For Poland, Milik has already scored ten goals in his first 22 appearances with the team. Even Lewandowski has to tip his cap at that.

Milik has flown remarkably under the radar, as reports suggest that only Leicester City and Marseille are interested in the striker. With the supposed asking price to be around £10m, the time is now to snap him up. Arsenal let Michy Batshuayi slip to Marseille and it would be unfortunate to see a similar situation unfold with Milik.

No move is going to happen until after Euro 2016, but that is when Arsenal should swoop. Poland has been putting on strong showings in the qualifiers and they look ready to make a splash. If they can, no doubt Milik will have a big part to play in it.

What makes Milik special is that he is incredibly comparable to Olivier Giroud. He could use a pointer or two, but he is still young and fully capable of learning. All he would have to do is become Giroud’s apprentice and in time he could overtake his to-be French team mate. It’s definitely a better option than Milik’s current Arsenal-loaned team mate Yaya Sanogo.

More from Arsenal Transfer Rumours

Arsenal do need striking options. We are not going to see anything new before the summer, but come the summer window, with Giroud still the only viable striker, it will be prime time to move for Milik. He will have completed the Euro’s and he will be looking for somewhere else to play. Ajax cannot hold onto a rising striker of this magnitude. Arsenal can.

Not only that, but as previously mentioned, behind Olivier Giroud, Arsenal have next to nothing. Walcott and Welbeck aren’t strikers and Chuba Akpom has a lot to prove. The next legitimate striking option is 17 year old Donyell Malen and suffice to say we don’t want to have to settle with Welbeck until Malen grows into the role.

Milik provides little to no transition from Giroud. He is the same type of striker with some added benefits that Giroud did not have at such a young age. He has a fierce long shot and more pace than Giroud, while still maintaining an aerial presence.

Everything matches between the two parties. It is a wonder why Arsenal have not at least been rumored to be on the young Pole’s case yet.
