Arsenal Being Spared Future Frustrations By Jon Toral
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal may have fallen into some rather frustrating times, but if nothing else, at least Jon Toral has given us something to be excited about.
Losing to Chelsea is always enough to damper the spirits of North London. Losing to Chelsea thanks to yet another red card earned by Diego Costa is enough to douse the spirits of North London like a fire hose unleashed on a match.

While Arsenal can pull a little optimism out of Alexis’ return and the gritty performance that their ten men put up, nothing will put points on the board except for their next match, which unfortunately is not until after next weekend’s FA Cup match.
In spite of all of this, one Arsenal man has done his best to lift Arsenal out of the doldrums that follows a Chelsea loss. That man is current Birmingham City loanee Jon Toral. Toral has made the most out of his loan and is statistically one of the strongest young men in Arsenal’s system.
Enough of this jabbering for now, though. Take a look at what he did.
Chelsea may take our spirit and replace it with frustration, but Toral did everything he could to prepare us for any sort of loss by giving us this wonder goal to fall back on.
This was Toral’s sixth goal of the season for the Blues (the Birmingham City Blues, not those other Blues). He has three assists to go along with it en route to becoming City’s center piece as they push for promotion to the Premier League.

Needless to say, Toral gives Arsenal someone that should be making an impact with the first team in no time flat.
Come this summer, Arsenal will be bidding adieu to Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky. While Mohamed Elneny will undoubtedly go towards one of those spots, two still need to be filled. Arsene Wenger is always reluctant to spend money and given how few midfielders he actually pursued this January, Arsenal may be either left thin or left reliant on internal solutions.
Thankfully, Toral is one of those internal solutions. He has proven through his contributions at Birmingham that he is ready to be given a shot at the Arsenal first team and there is very little that says that he will not stick once he lands there. Luckily for Arsene Wenger, this will save him the money of buying someone new or it will save him the backlash if he does not sign someone new. Whatever the case, Toral is making Wenger’s life a heck of a lot easier.

Toral is a rather unique player because he has the stature of a defensive midfielder but the abilities of an attacking midfielder. Ideally, the Aaron-Ramsey-like role that sits next to the defensive midfielder would be perfect for him.
However, that role may not be opening up for some time. In the meantime, he is more than capable of playing on the right and potentially spotting the No. 10 role as well. He could even be prepping to replace countryman Santi Cazorla when he takes his talents back to Spain.

Toral is 100% focused on his Birmingham City team mates right now but come the summer, it will be go-time at Arsenal. Toral will be looking to mimic his close friend Hector Bellerin’s successes. All he has to do is latch onto a first team spot and make the most out of every opportunity.
