Arsenal may not be in the market for much in the immediate impact department, however they will never stop bolstering their future and that’s where Kylian Mbappe fits in.

It looks like Arsene Wenger is starting to kick up a theme at Arsenal. Le Prof is aware that his tenure is coming to an end. We don’t know how much longer he will be here but he is definitely in the latter stages. He has made it a point that one of his top priorities is to leave the club in better shape for whoever is to succeed him.

The best way that Wenger can do that is by using his scouting expertise to load this youth system up with so much talent that the next manager will have a surplus of excellence.

Then, all he has to do is draw names out of a hat. Or at least that’s the idea.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Kylian Mbappe is the next teenager to supposedly be on his way to Arsenal. The 17 year old French striker is currently at Monaco but with his contract set to run up at the end of the year, it appears that he will be moving on. Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool are all in on the kid, but it is reported that Arsenal are winning the race.

Mbappe is being referred to as the next Anthony Martial, which, given that Martial hasn’t exactly made it yet, means little to nothing. But the kid has talent, and Arsenal are always willing to give a youngster a shot.

Arsene Wenger looks like he is starting to compile classes of wonderkids. The class of 2015 was compiled of the likes of Krystian Bielik, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Yassin Fortune, Donyell Malen, Ismael Bennacer, Vlad Dragomir and more. It was a healthy class with a lot of those talents making significant headway.

The class of 2016 is already starting to have some premium talents on the horizon. The Nigerian U17 wonder duo that took home the U17 world cup look set to join Arsenal. Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze were both vital members of that world cup winning team and they look to headline this new class of wonderkids.

With Mbappe hopefully joining them, there is plenty to be excited about with the class of 2016.

All of these teenage talents will be crashing on the shores of the Premier League around the same time. The purpose is rather clear. With how frustrated Wenger can get on the transfer market, the best thing he can do is put his team in a situation where he will not have to deal with the transfer market in the future.

With so many talented young teenagers, the idea is to produce all internal solutions when needed. It is hard to argue with this approach as it lets Wenger flex his biggest strengths – scouting and youth development. Similarly, it allows us to ignore his biggest weaknesses – spending money and the transfer market in general.
