Here are the player ratings:

GK. Arsenal FC. DAVID OSPINA. 7.6. Could have done more on the one goal Burnley scored, but aside from that he had a very solid return to action. Definitely restores a good chunk of lost faith. Made a couple saves that kept Arsenal in it.

7.7. Scored the goal that started it all. Was a very impressive finish and he deserves massive credit for it. He did look better on offense than he did on defense but aside from a few isolated instances, never looked particularly bad. Nice to see him with a good performance with Debuchy on the outs.. RB. Arsenal FC. CALUM CHAMBERS

7.5. Andre Gray gave him fits all match but given that Gray never scored, it’s safe to say that Gabriel emerged victorious. The defense as a unit looked shaky at times but in the end, it was just a goal surrendered. Not the worst result. Gabriel did have some crucial defensive plays.. CB. Arsenal FC. GABRIEL PAULISTA

Arsenal FC. LAURENT KOSCIELNY. 7.2. Koscielny’s shaky form continued for the most part. Had some very sloppy plays where he left Ospina exposed. Needs to shape up because behind him, there isn’t anything.. CB

7.8. Great game from Gibbs. His attacking play has actually improved since he’s been making his random appearances at left wing. Played solid defense too. Arsenal have two very good left backs, both of whom could be starting on any given day.. LB. Arsenal FC. KIERAN GIBBS

MID. Arsenal FC. FRANCIS COQUELIN. 7.7. He gets bonus points just for being back in the fray. Le Coq’s presence is always felt and it was no exception against Burnley. He is a fantastic defensive force.

Great debut for the Egyptian. He got bullied a couple of times but emerged the stronger man at times too. Looked composed on the ball and never turned the ball over. Got forward well and looked desperate to stamp his debut with a goal but it was not to be. Still a great showing.. MID. Arsenal FC. MOHAMED ELNENY. 7.9

This is the kind of thing we need to see from the Ox more often. He matched Alexis’ drive from on the opposite side of the pitch. His passing was on point and got him an assist and his dribbling was firing on all cylinders as well.. MID. Arsenal FC. ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN. 8.0

MID. Arsenal FC. ALEXIS SANCHEZ. 8.7. MAN OF THE MATCH. Fantastic return to the starting XI. Alexis had a hand in each goal, providing a nice assist on the first and putting in the second. Made some spectacular runs. His dribbling and passing was on point as Burnley looked incapable of dispossessing him. Alexis has now taken man of the match in his first two games back.

7.6. Iwobi is starting to get some confidence. He is improving game by game and his touch is looking more assured. Was a threat going forward and used his strength well. The only glaring mistake he had he quickly amended.. MID. Arsenal FC. ALEX IWOBI

OLIVIER GIROUD. 7.4. You’d like to see more from the big man against a lower-tier side like Burnley, but just because he did not score doesn’t mean he did not contribute. Put in a good days work winning aerial duels and bossing the defense.. ST. Arsenal FC

MID. Arsenal FC. TOMAS ROSICKY. 7.0. Didn’t contribute much but didn’t take away much either. Great to see him back in an Arsenal kit.

7.1. Pretty good actually. I was livid when he came on the pitch but he put in a good play or two and didn’t endanger Arsenal. Took a fierce hit from Andre Gray but it didn’t break him.. MID. Arsenal FC. MIKEL ARTETA

THEO WALCOTT. 6.8. Walcott’s past couple weeks can be summed up by his inability to beat Tom Heaton at the closing whistle.. MID. Arsenal FC
