Arsenal Dodge Bullets With Mathieu Debuchy Bordeaux Loan
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal have apparently finally gotten rid of Mathieu Debuchy for the rest of the season as the unhappy right back will be joining Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.
Within minutes of posting about how Arsenal must loan out their problematic bench-monger Mathieu Debuchy, a deal appears to have been struck. Sky Sports is reporting that L’Equipe has announced a deal that will send Debuchy to Ligue 1 side Bordeaux for the remainder of the season.
Interest had been pouring in from all sources within the Premier League. Aston Villa had been the longest linked but Remi Garde was unable to finalize the deal. Their spot in the table was a suspected cause for the lack of interest, as was the case with Sunderland as well.
However, interest was coming in from Manchester United as well, although Wenger was wise to steer away from that potential disaster. Not only should Wenger feel a bit twitchy at the concept of sending players to direct EPL rivals, but it was also a disaster waiting to happen. Louis Van Gaal is known to be a bit rough with his players, as many athletes out there have had negative run ins with the man.

Despite a present need for a fullback, once guys like Darmian, Valencia and Rojo returned, Debuchy would have been confined to the benches where more frustration would have abounded. Then, not only does he still miss out on Euro 2016, but Arsenal is without a legitimate replacement while he rots on United’s bench.
This potential loan to Bordeaux is perfect. The side is seventh in Ligue 1 and figures to have plenty of consistent opportunities for Mathieu Debuchy while still providing competition. It is the perfect combination that no one else seemed to be able to offer.
Now the question is who Arsenal will replace his spot in the club with. That is, if L’Equipe is correct in this initial report.
