Arsenal look set to miss out on one of the biggest young talents in the world of football. Riechedly Bazoer has made his intentions incredibly clear and Arsenal is not in them.

Arsenal are known for their ability to attract the best and brightest youth talents in the game. A combination of a strong developmental system and the personal care of Arsene Wenger just appeals to youngsters. It has helped Arsenal revitalize a somewhat decaying system over the past two years.

However, that appeal is not a guarantee to work on everyone. Unfortunately, it looks like Arsenal have been eliminated from the future plans of Dutch wonderkid Riechedly Bazoer.

The Patrick-Vieira-type midfielder announced not long ago that his goal is to park his car at Barcelona and win trophies. Seems pretty self explanatory.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Bazoer is not one to mince words and as Goal.com has reported, the kid usually gets what he wants because he is just that good. Edwin de Wijs, his former coach at PSV, had this to say of Bazoer: “I could not believe my eyes. In a new team, with older boys, he was the best after just a few months. After three months in the C1 he wanted to be promoted to the B-team. And then straight to the A-team. He has no patience – not everything should be fast. But he always makes it happen.”

Ronald de Boer had similar things to say about him three years ago when Bazoer was still just 16 years old. “It was like there was a grown man on the field.”

Everything points to Bazoer being the complete midfield talent. He is referred to as stable, confident, reliable and consistent. Those are four things that any team out there would break the bank for. As such, every club from Manchester City to Napoli have scouted him at some point in time.

It looked as though it was narrowed down to Barcelona or Arsenal, but Bazoer made it a non-factor. He will not stand to be put on the bench, so he plans to stay at Ajax until he is 22 or 23 and then go to Barcelona, where he plans to never be sat again.

You have to admire his spunk.

Arsenal will be missing out on this talent. For so long they have been looking for that “next Vieira” and you don’t get much closer than Bazoer. He stands almost as big as Vieira and his offensive numbers are impressive enough to draw comparisons. This year alone he has four goals and three assists as well as maintaining an 85% pass completion.

More from Arsenal Transfer Rumours

Remember, he’s only 19.

Arsenal still have a lot to offer him. Their youth system is taking on a Dutch personality as Andries Jonker is the head of academy development. Donyell Malen, Bazoer’s countryman, paved the way to Arsenal before him and earned his first professional contract on his 17th birthday.

Plus, as Hector Bellerin can tell Bazoer, it is easy to get lost in the Barcelona system. However, not so much with Arsenal. Wenger will always give his talents chances and as Bellerin as an example, they can stick if they prove themselves. Besides, if Malen is Arsenal’s next Thierry Henry, then Arsenal is one “next Vieira” away from world domination.

There may still be time for Arsenal to convince Bazoer otherwise, but given how headstrong he is, this may be a lost cause.
