Arsenal kind of have to win against Swansea City at home and while it should be easy, nothing ever seems to be. Here are some predictions.

In case you haven’t heard, this is a must win match. If the Gunner’s lose, the title race may be done and dusted and Arsenal will be looking to avoid embarrassment against Tottenham on Saturday.

This is not a friendly stretch of fixtures. A nice Wednesday game and three days later they turn around and have an early match against North London rivals who happen to be three points up. Pulling level with the Spurs is crucial given the massive goal differential.

If a title race were to come down to goal differential between Spurs and Arsenal, there are no words to describe the sickness that would spread across the world.

But Swansea comes first. The Swans showed tremendous potential to kick off the year but since then, it has been rather putrid, if we’re being honest. Goals have not come easily for them and they have lost a lot of what made them look so promising to start the year.

That being said, Gary Monk seemed to always have the spare key to the Emirates, as he consistently refused to lose at the Gunner’s home ground. Luckily, Monk has been sacked, so that voodoo juju has been removed. With all that behind us, let’s get into some score predictions.

Thomas: Arsenal 2-1 Swansea City

The Gunners beat the Swans 3-0 in Wales last October. Playing at the Emirates on Wednesday against a struggling team they’ve already walloped, the Gunners have no excuse to not come away with the three points.

Needless to say, Arsenal needs this win to stay afloat in the title race, especially considering the vital Tottenham match this Saturday, but will the North Londoners in red choke again? Well, it won’t be too pretty, but Kos and Per will hold the back together and Arsenal will win 2-1. Expect the in-form Welbeck-Ozil connection to leave another significant mark on this match, too.

Nasra: Arsenal 2-1 Swansea City

With the dropped points at United still fresh in their minds, you’d have to think that Arsenal will do all they can to win against Swansea. There isn’t any excuse that the players or Wenger can use if they don’t perform well on Wednesday. The three points are badly needed, and I think Arsenal will take them off Swansea.

Brian: Arsenal 1-0 Swansea City

The reason why I think Arsenal will win is simple. Trust, and hope! With Leicester City losing ground, Arsenal need to start realizing that even their opponents want them to lift the trophy. All that is left is for this team to cease those opportunities and never start Walcott up front ever again!

Tom: Arsenal 2-1 Swansea City

A narrow 2-1 win for Arsenal with Ramsey scoring the winner. After last weekend’s horror show the Gunners will be nervy but get the job done in the end!

Josh: Arsenal 2-0 Swansea

This is the day I accept that Arsenal cannot score three goals. Not even at home against relegation contenders. By predicting only two goals, I am of course hoping for a little reverse psychology on the footballing karma, whatever that is.

Disasters always wake up Arsenal. The problem is it’s hard to pinpoint when that disaster is going to end. Losing to Barcelona at home and then to Manchester Universities B Squad counts as a disaster. It’s hard to see that continuing past Swansea. Arsenal will wake up. It’s science. The only question is if they will wake up in time to save the title. My vote is yes. It all starts here.
