Arsenal face a fresh slate against Hull City after the first match finished scoreless. Here are some predictions from the Pain in the Arsenal staff.

There should actually be a good degree of confidence going into this game. Arsenal is due for a good streak and there is no better subject in this mass of fixtures to begin that streak on than Hull City. The Gunners have a history of moving them aside and carrying on with FA Cup business, although they never make it look easy.

There may be a lot of injuries to deal with, but given the need for a necessary rotation anyway, the Gunners should not be faced with too many uncomfortable starts. So let’s get to those predictions, courtesy of the writers here.

Tom: Arsenal 1-1 Hull City, Arsenal advance on penalties

This game will be similar to the one a few weeks ago. Be prepared to see many changes as Arsenal look to deal with a hectic schedule. It will be a tight affair with Hull scoring early and then sitting deep before Arsenal equalize late in the second half. The scoreline will remain the same and Ospina will save us with two penalty saves!

Jay: Arsenal 3-1 Hull City

Nasra: Arsenal 2-1 Hull City

The FA Cup has really become Arsenal’s favourite competition, and it is their most realistic chance of getting any silverware this season. They’ve beaten Hull City twice in a row in this competition in the past two years, and I expect them to continue their winning ways against the Tigers.

Josh: Arsenal 2-1 Hull City

Arsenal should have squeezed a little bit of momentum from the Tottenham affair and that will give them some fire early, which will net them a first half goal. However, given the shakiness of this defense, David Ospina will again be left helpless as Hull City equalize, much to the dismay of all.

No worries though, because the Gunners will dig deep (again?!) and score a late goal to win it. This squad knows they need this competition.
