Arsenal Could Benefit From Infamous International Break
Arsenal’s past another International Break, again. How many of these are there in a season anyways? I always feel like there’s not much to do but cross my fingers our injury list won’t get any longer.
Maybe it’s because Arsenal seems to have a rocky relationship with the break. It’s a double-edged sword.

With Arsenal’s current lethargic form of football, the International Break should allow Arsenal to regroup and come back this weekend with their mojo reinstated.
Everyone has been so upset at Wenger. Me too. I didn’t realize how out of form Arsenal has been playing. Maybe it’s because Arsenal was out of their comfort zone not being in 4th place, but we seemed to be falling flat in matches.

Remember when Arsenal beat Leicester City 2-1? Welbeck scored in the 90+5’ minute.
I told you, you wouldn’t remember that moment of magic unless Arsenal won the league. It was the moment to turn Arsenal’s season and overtake Leicester City. Well, it didn’t happen, at least not yet.
We forced an English FA Cup replay against Hull City. ESPN FC’s first news when I ‘tap’ on the score of Arsenal vs. Hull City displays a video titled ‘Wenger to blame for Arsenal’s FA Cup draw’? I watched the video. They were talking about Wenger’s decision to rest star players.
Fair point, but Arsenal should be winning this game regardless right?
We did play some beautiful football against Barcelona, and although we deserved much more for the match, we fell to the Spanish gigantes 2-0 at The Emirates. Typical. I actually thought we could have won if we would learn how to better place a soccer ball inside an 8 by 24 ft. goal.
Scoring goals feels like quantum physics for Arsenal sometimes.
The loss vs. Barca was probably the brightest point in our form since beating Leicester City and it was still a loss.
This one really stung, a 3-2 defeat against Manchester United. Marcus Rashford put United up 2-0 within the 32’. Do you know how many upsetting memes about this spectacle there were? A lot.
We continued with Arsenal suffering another defeat, this time to Swansea City. Oh and we tied Spurs. A bittersweet draw that at the beginning of the match looked like a win, then after Coquelin’s intervention seemed like sweet relief with a come from behind tie.
We crashed out of the FA Cup. Honestly, I don’t think we ‘crashed,’ it wasn’t as if our form at the time suggested we’d be victorious against Watford. We burned out against Barcelona 3-1, 5-1 aggregate. That’s embarrassing.
Besides the first Barcelona game and parts of the second, we haven’t played particularly well. Giroud’s goal drought gives me a severe case of xerostomia. Walcott was allegedly charged with offering some competition and options to Giroud, but he hasn’t delivered.

Alexis. I own one of your jerseys, and you’re the only Arsenal player I’ve ever seen play in a live match, so I say this with much respect: Where have you been this season? Yes, I admit he scored the tying goal vs. Spurs, but even that hasn’t been enough to save him from the criticism.
Per Mertesacker described it perfectly; “we play and play and play until the opposing team scores”.
Mesut Ozil gives an accurate outlook on the situation “Looking at our season so far, we have to be honest and admit that we mucked it up ourselves. We did not play to our potential in the games against the so-called smaller teams. You immediately get punished for that in the Premier League. But we still have a chance of winning the title. We have to hope Leicester and Tottenham slip up and then make the most of it”.
That’s what I’m talking about. Someone say something, be upset, get someone else on the squad fired up, and get some frustration going. We had an EPL winning ambition some weeks ago and now we’re almost guaranteed to go trophy-less.
