Arsenal’s season came to a screeching halt against West Ham as the Gunners blew a 2-0 lead and could only scrape back to a draw, 3-3. Here are the ratings.

Arsenal needed three points to stay in the title race and they got one. I’m still hesitant to up and say that that puts a cap on the season, but the cap is sitting there, waiting to be beckoned on.

Arsenal got off to an easy 2-0 lead and three points looked to be in the books. Naturally, the most unlikely of Hammers – the braided-hair Andy Carroll – got in the way, scoring himself a hat trick caused by aerial dominance as no one on Arsenal’s defense could climb to the heights of the Englishman.

Arsenal did get a goal back to draw, but ten points seems impossible. Here are the player ratings.

6.3. Three goals looks bad and there were times when Ospina did look rather shaky in his decision making. Good fortune saved him a couple of times, but he did make some good saves to go along with it. Arsenal may have no choice but to revert to Cech.. GK. Arsenal FC. DAVID OSPINA

HECTOR BELLERIN. 6.4. Not impressed. Gave away possession when he was way ahead of the play and didn’t contribute much to the rather poor defensive effort. To his credit, he is short and Andy Carroll is tall.. RB. Arsenal FC

6.6. Gabriel is going to get a bad wrap because it looked as though he was directly responsible for two goals. But take a step back. No, he wasn’t great, but one goal bounced off his head unwillingly and one was a double effort by Carroll that Gabriel didn’t have much option with. Still have to see more from him if he wants to hold onto the spot at Arsenal.. CB. Arsenal FC. GABRIEL PAULISTA

7.5. Good game. Scored a goal. He was at his usual level of dominance on and off the ball.. CB. Arsenal FC. LAURENT KOSCIELNY

6.1. Monreal drove me crazy today. He was flopping all over the box and provided little else. That being said, he should have had a goal.. LB. Arsenal FC. NACHO MONREAL

FRANCIS COQUELIN. 6.2. Did his part on the defensive end. Failed to do anything on the offensive end. Just a standard day at the office for the Frenchman. Was the first to be taken off.. MID. Arsenal FC

6.5. Very average day from our new star. Didn’t do anything outstanding. Did get forward well and create problems and again completed a another day without giving up the ball.. MID. Arsenal FC. MOHAMED EL NENY

Arsenal FC. ALEX IWOBI. 8.1. MAN OF THE MATCH. Another great performance. His assists were splendid. It has been said so many times, but it must be said again – what makes him so special is that he plays such a simple, direct style of play. Definitely gives everyone something to be excited about.. MID

7.4. First half was great. His goal was a superb finish. But then he disappeared and was not seen again. Disappointing, but at the same time promising, just like every goal from the German maestro is.. MID. Arsenal FC. MESUT OZIL

7.8. Good goal. Good effort all around. Definitely looks better on the right. Which is funny because as soon as he went back left he disappeared.. MID. Arsenal FC. ALEXIS SANCHEZ

Bad day from Danny. Had an assist, but on the day, he just looked out of sync. His passes were going astray and he was losing the ball. The effort is still there though.. ST. Arsenal FC. DANNY WELBECK. 6.2

6.3. Came on late. Did next to nothing. Had a chance at a header. Did have one good instance of defending, that’s what boosted his rating... ST. Arsenal FC. OLIVIER GIROUD

6.4. Was brought on when that offensive push was needed and he acclimated well. Naturally gave the ball away a time or two, but looked positive, like he hadn’t missed a beat.. MID. Arsenal FC. AARON RAMSEY

He tries. Boy, he tries. But nothing came off. Wasn’t much of a threat for Arsenal despite the tired legs.. MID. Arsenal FC. THEO WALCOTT. 5.9
