Arsenal Have To Be Ruthless To Land Alvaro Morata
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal need a striker, but given the limited availability, they may have to overpay. That doesn’t make it impossible. They just have to be ruthless.
In case you haven’t heard, Arsenal need a new striker. And in case you haven’t been updated, not that many world class strikers are available. So if Arsenal want to improve up front, they have to be vigilant and they are going to have to overpay. There are no other options.

The heaviest linked striker is Alvaro Morata. Depending on which rumor you want to believe, they say that Morata wants a move to Arsenal. Others will say he wants to stay at Juventus, but with the Turin side already in possession of three other strikers and Real Madrid ready to buy Morata back in order to cash in, there isn’t much of an option.
So it apparently comes down to Arsenal or Chelsea.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has spoken out about his desire to hang onto the youngster, saying that “he’s a young guy and needs to stay at Juve for a few years, he needs to grow. But I have very strong options in attack. This team is difficult to improve but we must try to do so, by improving the individual players.”
The obstacles are stacking up. This isn’t like the Granit Xhaka transfer, which was as easy as picking up an apple that had already fallen from a tree. Xhaka said he wanted to move, the team was resigned to sell him, and Arsenal had a need. The biggest obstacle was Xhaka wanting to retain his favored No. 34.
Luckily, Morata will have no such troubles with his No. 9.
Arsenal have to be ruthless to land Morata. They have to hold nothing back and be persistent. If Morata really does want a move to the Emirates, then there is no reason this deal shouldn’t happen.

Allegri is right about one thing, he does need to grow. But it doesn’t have to be at Juventus. And to be fair, he was lost in the mix at Juventus. Morata only started 18 games in Serie A. I feel pretty confident in stating that Morata will start more than 18 games in the Premier League with Arsenal.
Morata would be coming into a broken situation. Giroud is inconsistent, Welbeck is hurt, Walcott has no value up front. It would be Morata’s job to lose and given what we’ve seen and how much potential he has, plus who would be around him, I don’t believe that he would lose it.
Morata is not a sure-fire bet. There is nothing that guarantees that he will be a fiend in the box for Arsenal. But given who is available, and unless Arsenal is actually looking at Arek Milik, which it doesn’t seem like they are, then Morata is it. He has the talent, he has the potential. And it’s not like money is an issue for Arsenal.
