Arsenal Fate Tied Completely To Alvaro Morata
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal may or may not land Alvaro Morata. But whatever happens, the Spaniard may very well determine the fate of the Gunners up front.
Arsenal’s need for a striker may have to wait until after the Euros. That’s perfectly fine, so long as someone is acquired. However, even with waiting until the Euros, it’s beginning to feel like Arsenal’s fate up front is going to be directly tied to the Spaniard, Alvaro Morata.

With his future in doubt, Morata is dictating the inflation in the striker transfer market. As the most available, most promising talent on the market, everything is balancing on him.
The Spaniard seems emotionally tied to Juventus. Both Morata and the brain trust at the Turin side have indicated that they would like to stay together, but Real Madrid have the final word. They have that pesky buy-back clause that, if enacted, would prevent Juventus from keeping hold.
That seemed to be all that mattered. However, now that Morata’s girlfriend has come out and said that she’s not sure whether or not Morata will be leaving Turin, we have to wonder if Juvenrus and Madrid may have reached an agreement.
The point here is that Morata is the price that is driving the transfer market. Guys like Arek Milik, Michy Batshuayi and other available strikers is being strongly influenced by the front runner, Morata. Morata is facing a price in the £40m range. No other striker is near that price.
If Arsenal can lock up another striker before Morata’s future is determined, they can take advantage of the enigmatic state of this rumor. This is the way it has to happen, because if they wait for Morata to move, suddenly everyone else will get much more expensive.

I still love the idea of Milik coming to Arsenal. They cannot miss out on yet another promising striker on the brink of stardom. £16m is all that he is supposedly going for, but when Morata gets snapped up off the market, we could see that price increase. And increase a lot.
Morata is therefore completely dictating what Arsenal will be looking at up front come next year. If we sign him or not, Arsenal will need to determine their future at striker before Morata determines his own. Waiting for him is just asking for trouble.

Then there is the prospect of Arsenal actually signing Morata. If that were to be the case, I believe it’s rather self-explanatory how he will determine the future of Arsenal.
