Arsenal: Luis Suarez Mistakes Cannot Be Made With Vardy
Arsenal’s advances for Jamie Vardy are set to be rejected by the Leicester Striker. Arsene Wenger cannot afford to make the same mistakes the last time a high profile bid for a Premier League forward was made.
Learning from your mistakes is what the great players, teams and managers do. Even the great Sir Alex Ferguson signed some truly terrible players (I had the pleasure of watching Eric Djemba-Djemba live and dear lord he was bad).

Three years ago, Arsenal made a fool of themselves with an embarrassing £40 million and £1 bid for then Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. Thinking that the bid would activate a release clause in his contract, Wenger was confident of being able to persuade the Uruguay international of moving to the English capital. However, the Arsenal manager was wrong, Liverpool rejected the offer and the Gunners returned home with their tail between their legs.
Once again, Arsenal are set to be disappointed with another transfer bid, as Vardy is expected to turn down their advances and stay with Leicester City. However, this time, they must learn from their past mistakes, in particular, one mistake, a reluctance to reinvest in an alternative.
After the Gunner’s offer for Suarez was rebutted, they were unwilling to find a replacement. Perhaps this may be because there were no other options available. Suarez is perhaps the best striker in the world and there weren’t many other players that Arsenal could have signed instead of the Liverpool forward.
That, however, is not the case now. There are a host of other options for Arsenal to pursue this Summer, some that are considered better than Vardy (though I would dispute this fact), and if Arsenal do not use Vardy’s rejection of their offer to invest in a different option, then it could cost them next season.
It is tiring seeing Arsenal consistently being linked with players that would clearly improve the squad, refusing to sign the player or their offer being rejected, and then being unwilling to force through a move or adapting and finding a second option.

This Summer Arsenal have the chance to build a squad to win the Premier League. With a few key additions, mainly at center half and upfront, the Gunners could realistically enter next season as favorites to lift the trophy. All of this, though, is merely a dream if Wenger does not learn from his past mistakes.
