Arsenal: Jose Mourinho’s Arrogance Is A Welcome Fiend
By Josh Sippie
Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho go way back, so leave it to the new Manchester United manager to already be jabbing at Arsenal before he’s done anything.
There aren’t many people in this world that can can make me cringe on sight. Jose Mourinho is one of them. The former Chelsea manager, now Manchester United manager has only been manager of United for a couple months and already he has his mind swarmed with how he can mentally overcome Arsenal.

It’s cute. I must admit, I kind of missed his arrogance.
I have few fonder memories then seeing Arsene Wenger shove the little Portuguese man on the touchline. However, of those few fonder memories, one is obviously Chelsea’s mid-table finish and the tarring and feathering of the Special One.
Now at the helm of the disgraced Manchester United, I am beyond excited to see Arsenal defeat him. The little man has already been not-so-subtly calling out Wenger in a press conference, carrying on right where he left off when his Chelsea were putting up their dukes to stay out of the relegation zone.
They say actions speak louder than words, but if you tell Jose that, he will just turn up the volume of his voice a bit. He’s still shaken from his unceremonious exit from Chelsea. He has to be. Even as he was getting buried in the EPL table, he still held to his ‘principles’ of poking Arsenal with every comment.
“Jose, what did you have for breakfast?”
“Mini wheats. I have fiber, unlike some people who haven’t had fiber in ten years.”
It got a little desperate at times. And honestly, while it was funny to see him crumble, it was also pathetic. After awhile, I even did something disgusting and I started to pity him. Crazy right? The man who had lived underneath Wenger’s skin was invoking my pity now that Wenger was under his. It was weird.
And then, like a breeze on the roaring plains of the Monongahela, he was gone. Like a vacuum, the jibing, snarling little terrier that had been barking in the corner of the room had disappeared. It left the Premier League swamped with an excessive amount of class. It was quiet.
It had to come to an end, and who better to end it than Manchester United. Departing wholeheartedly from the greatness that Sir Alex Ferguson built, the proud Mancunian club pulled the ultimate 180 and signed the mercenary team captain as their new manager.
Desperation is a foul stench.

It’s equal parts exciting and, to use the word again, pathetic. Jose Mourinho doesn’t care about the team. I had someone tell me that that just wasn’t true, that he wanted to build a legacy at Chelsea. Really? Then he wouldn’t be at Manchester United right now. I’ll bet that Adebayor wanted a legacy at Arsenal too. And Sol Campbell wanted one at Tottenham.
You may complain about Arsenal’s brain trust, I do too, but I am proud to believe that Arsenal would never have to suffer through a hyena like Mourinho as our manager. Whine and moan about Wenger but at least appreciate that he loves this club, wants nothing more than to see it succeed and has gobs of class. Mourinho has none of that.
You may say that you’d rather have trophies than class. Fair enough. But I’d rather have a lasting legacy than a brief window of glory.
I’m glad that Mourinho is back. I’m glad that he thinks he can beat Fergie’s record. I’m glad that he’s in the Europa League and that he’s mouthing off and that he hasn’t changed at all. It will make it all the sweeter when he gets canned again in two years.
The man can never get canned enough.
