Arsenal has a lot of questions still to answer this summer, but one question they won’t have to answer for awhile is who plays right back, where Hector Bellerin resides.

There are certain things that all fans inevitably take for granted from time to time. It’s inevitable. Whenever something becomes set in stone, it just tends to become an afterthought. That doesn’t mean it isn’t appreciated, it just means that it is expected. If anything, it’s the sincerest form of appreciation. Such is the case with Arsenal’s dearly beloved right back, Hector Bellerin.

Bellerin is the most entrenched Arsenal man and he is only 21 years of age. But we don’t often sit around thanking Arsene Wenger for acquiring Bellerin because we simply don’t sit around thinking about Bellerin. He doesn’t do anything that is worthy of excessive thought and that’s a good thing.

Going back to that ‘set in stone’ analogy, I think of it like this: Think of the Great Wall of China. Do you think, when the Mongols were invading, that the Chinese constantly dwelled on how thankful they were that some parts of the wall were so sturdy and reliable? No, they thought about the part that had a big hole in it that ol’ boy Genghis had just walked through.

Bellerin has become the part in Arsenal’s wall that is just expected to perform well because he always does. It is still a worshiped spectacle when he repels an attack or somehow attacks on his own (I guess walls can attack now), but as mentioned, we don’t frequently sit around thinking about all the things that are going right That’s not human nature.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

That is what makes Hector Bellerin completely unique among Arsenal players. Of the best possible starting XI that Arsenal has, Bellerin is the only player that has nothing but positive thoughts attached to him. It may sound like a minor revelation, but it isn’t. Arsenal has something unique in Bellerin, but at the same time, he is nothing more than a glorious afterthought because of how well he has acclimated to the duties before him.

Every other player Arsenal employs has some form of concern. When it comes to Ozil, we worry about happiness and how long he will stay. Ramsey, we worry about where he will play and if he can perform. Koscielny, we worry about who his partner will be. Alexis, we worry about his form and his happiness. Cech, we worry about longevity. Monreal, we worry if there isn’t someone better (Rodriguez, Sidibe). Iwobi, we worry that he isn’t ready.

All of these exciting players have some sort of worry or anxiety attached to them and it makes them a continual presence on our minds.

With Bellerin, there is no such thing. He is young, he is one of the best in the world, he was a brilliant find by Wenger and he is most certainly not leaving. Bellerin is one of the few players that addresses nearly every exit rumor as soon as it appears. He will come right out and laugh the rumors into the dust, kick them, step on them, bury them and go back to his daily routine. You know when all that they have to talk about regarding your summer is your beach getaway with your girlfriend, that you are doing something right.

There is no an ounce of concern attached to Bellerin. What a blessing. There are no strings attached. We never have to worry. We just have to enjoy his fantastic level of play and watch as he turns into one of the best fullbacks Arsenal has ever seen.
