Arsenal are being linked with a plethora of players as we approach the summer transfer deadline, here’s your round up.

Arsenal defender Gabriel, 25, was carried off on a stretcher during the final moments of Arsenal’s pre-season clash against Manchester City in Gothenburg, leaving the Gunners without a fully fit senior centre half for the start of the season. This could intensify their attempts to land £40m-rated Valencia centre back Shkodran Mustafi according to the Daily Mail.

Per Mertesacker is facing at least four months out with a knee injury sustained earlier in pre-season and Laurent Koscielny is only just returning from holiday and therefore short of match fitness. Arsene Wenger is facing a huge dilemma as youngsters Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and Krystian Bielik are currently his only options to open the season against Liverpool at centre-back.

Arsenal are among the favourites to sign Charlton and England U19 forward Ademola Lookman, 18, for more than £2m, that’s according to the Daily Mirror.

Lookman is reportedly on the radar of a host of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Tottenham and Southampton. The ‘top-flight quartet’ were among the clubs to send scouts to watch the teenager star in last month’s European Under-19 Championships.

Arsenal fans have been crying out for a prolific striker for what seems like forever, Arsenal has already signed Takuma Asano but could now pay upwards of £2m to poach Lookman away from The Valley before the transfer window closes.

The Mirror also claims that either Shkodran Mustafi or Jonny Evans could be Arsenal players by the weekend. Wenger is trying to push through a move for either Valencia’s Mustafi or Jonny Evans of West Brom before the season opener at home to Liverpool on Sunday.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Mustafi, 24, has a £42m buyout clause but Valencia are understood to be willing to let him leave for as a little as £25m. Manchester United old boy and Northern Ireland international Evans, 28, is valued at around £15m.

Arsenal are willing to offer Olivier Giroud as bait in their bid to sign Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi. That is according to Italian outlet Gazzetta who say the Gunners are ready to offer the Frenchman plus £30m to land the Argentine forward.

Arsene Wenger is keen to strengthen his front line as he looks to end Arsenal’s title drought next season and has reportedly identified Icardi as a target.

AC Milan are set to scupper Arsenal’s attempt to sign Real Madrid star Isco.

That is according to Spanish outlet AS, who say the Serie A side want to take the midfielder to the San Siro as they plan a £300m overhaul of their squad.

The 22-year-old Spanish international will reportedly cost the Italian giants £37m.

Arsenal has been linked with a move for the player as they bid to strengthen their midfield ahead of attempting to end their title drought in the coming season.
