The Arsenal FIFA 17 ratings have been leaked online, revealing some rather interesting numbers. What do you think about these?

One of the great debates that football fans around the world have is the rating of players. Some will stand by their man til death, adamant that they are worthy of such high media hype or criminally underrated. Others will take the complete opposite view, arguing against any positive that can be made. The Arsenal squad, like every other, has plenty of divisive players.

One of the more professional ratings systems comes through games and in particular FIFA. Each and every year, there is a sense of heightened anticipation about the year’s new FIFA ratings. Well, Arsenal’s have been leaked online, and they are sure to incite debate.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

The first player’s rating that jumps off the screen is Hector Bellerin’s. 77?! That’s utterly ridiculous. Bellerin proved last season that he is one of the very best full-backs in the Premier League, far outperforming players rated higher than him, Darmian of Manchester United for example. That was a shock.

The other criminally undervalued player in the Arsenal squad per FIFA is Alex Iwobi. Admittedly the youngster only played a small number of games towards the end of last season, but he showed in those games the outstanding talent that he has, so much so that Arsene Wenger prevented him from traveling with Nigeria to the Olympics so that he would have his services at the start of this season. 69, therefore, is a miserly ranking. Iwobi should be up around 75 and certainly not below 70.

While those two were disrespected by FIFA, the rest seem rather fair, if not a tad optimistic. Gabriel Paulista at 78 is kind to say the least and Koscielny has finally been recognised with an 84 rating deserving of his quality. Many will have qualms with Mohamed Elneny’s 73, which does seem a tad harsh on the Egyptian, but Ozil, Cech and Sanchez all rightly maintain their upper echelon ratings.
