10. Nacho Monreal

Our usually reliable left back has not been his usual self this year. Being on the wrong side of 30, he is definitely looking a little worse for wear. His position is a taxing one that requires the utmost physical ability and even the slightest dip in physique can make a world of difference.

It doesn’t help that Monreal is lining up opposite of Hector Bellerin, who writes Usain Bolt once a day in order to challenge him to a footrace.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

The athleticism of the younger Spaniard really puts Monreal in a situation where his decreasing athleticism is clear to any onlooker. We have seen him get picked apart by Liverpool and he has looked shaky in other matches too. Any right-sided winger is going to have the speed to get around dear Nacho.

Still, there is something to be said about his continued stay. I wouldn’t be surprised, however, to see Kieran Gibbs start entering into the conversation more and more. The Englishman has looked ready and willing to make a difference lately and his blistering pace could be a welcome addition where Monreal’s pace has failed.

Moving on to No. 9.
