Arsenal: Walcott, Mustafi Shake Up Top 10 Player Power Rankings
By Josh Sippie
4. Laurent Koscielny
I hope I don’t make any enemies putting Laurent Koscielny here, where he is obviously behind someone else in this defense. But my reasoning is simple. Koscielny is obviously such a huge part of Arsenal’s success. You need look no further than his impact upon returning from international break. After surrendering four goals to Liverpool, Koscielny stepped in the following match and everything has looked vastly different.
I will repeat what I said about Bellerin, this defense is only being overshadowed because of the power of the attack. While Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez are scoring their goals, this back four is looking at each other with a silent understanding that that goal will be enough to win the match.
It’s even gotten to the point where Petr Cech is not in the power rankings simply because he has had so little work to do. No one can get through this defense and it has faced some serious tests.
The longer they grow together, the stronger they will grow. Laurent Koscielny will always be the glue that holds it all together.
