Arsenal: Mesut Ozil Manchester United Betrayal Utter Rubbish
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal and Mesut Ozil are starting to create a very healthy relationship, so much so that all exits feel unlikely. But one to Manchester United? Ha!
Usually, I don’t entertain stupid thoughts. Arsenal has enough drama, between injuries, contract situations and being in fourth place again to worry about what various “news” outlets are reporting regarding speculative exits.

Although, when one emerges that is truly hilarious and unbelievable, I like to give it a shout. And that is the case here, with the emerging rumors that Manchester United are weighing up a bid for Mesut Ozil.
If you were to ask me to construct the most unbelievable rumor imaginable at this juncture, this is what I would have come up with. There are so many reasons that is won’t happen, but I will just cover a few – the ones that give me a good laugh.
For starters, United is currently bogged down in a state of suckage. The Special One is unraveling as it becomes apparent that his style isn’t innovative anymore and he has shown no ability to acclimate to the modern times (ironic, that).
Sixth place is a very generous placement for United, as mid-table feels like a much more justifiable allocation of their season thus far.

There is also the matter of Jose Mourinho. In what alternate universe would Wenger sell his prized possession to his arch nemesis, who he has already defeated? Not this universe, that is for sure. Whereas Wenger is reliable, wise and loyal, Mourinho is a live-wire, likely to explode at any moment, as has as much reliability as a two-legged horse.
And do we actually believe that Ozil sees something at United that he doesn’t have at Arsenal? Think of Angel Di Maria. He arrived at United just as Ozil arrived at the Emirates. Both struggles, but Ozil was given every chance with Wenger, whereas Di Maria was shipped off after a year.
What scenario do you think Ozil finds more acceptable? And yes, it is a new manager than the one who sent off Di Maria, but Mourinho has similar antics. Again, he’s a treacherous brigand who cares not for his players.
Even if Ozil were to leave, which we have very little cause to believe he will, it would certainly not be to a direct rival. Not when Wenger has succumbed to such sales not all that long ago.
